Saga Furs´ March mink auction concluded today with good results. The 2.5 million mink pelts on offer were over 90% sold and the price level increased significantly. Almost 100 buyers from all main markets were actively competing in Saga Furs´ online auction system. Main buying was done to China with support from Europe, South Korea and Russia.
“The result confirms the trend of rising demand and upward prices that began at our December auction. This indicates market recovery and further strengthens confidence throughout the value chain,” says Saga Furs CEO Magnus Ljung.
“In some sections, the demand clearly exceeds the offering. We believe there will be increasing demand for sustainably produced mink pelts in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic,” Ljung continues.
