The finale of the first National Fur Skill Contest in China was hold end of September in Xinji, Hebei. The contest aims to promote fur culture, inherit craftsman, cultivate high skilled talents, and comprehensively improve the technical level of fur craftsmanship in China’s fur industry. The top-3 winners will get an amazing opportunity to go to Saga Furs Design Centre for a one-week free training course.
The Finals of the First National Fur Products Processing Industry Vocational Skills Contest was hold in 28th September 2020 in Xinji, Hebei, which is one of the fur and leather industry centers in China. The contest was hosted by China Light Industry Federation and China Leather Industry Association, undertaken by Xinji local government, assisted by Xinji International Leather City, and sponsored by Saga Furs.
The contest aims to promote fur culture, inherit craftsman, cultivate high skilled talents, and comprehensively improve the technical level of fur craftsmanship in China’s fur industry. The whole nation is divided into 4 zones for the competition, which is Liaoning, Hebei, Zhejiang and Guangdong. Each of the zone covers couple of provinces including itself and others close to it. In total 15 people were selected to the finals and the top three winners were awarded with the honorary title of “technical expert in light industry”, and also received an amazing opportunity to go to Saga Furs Design Centre for a one-week free training course.
Mr. Yan Ping, vice president of China Leather Association, said in his speech that the inheritance of fur processing technology has been strengthened for a long time, and has been inherited and carried forward by generations of fur industry practitioners in China. “Holding a national fur skills competition is not only a demonstration of the skill level of furriers, but also, it sets learning models for the whole industry. The in-depth development of this activity will surely play a positive role in stimulating the majority of workers to study techniques, continuously enhance their learning ability, innovation ability, strive to improve their own skills and comprehensive quality.”
The content of the contest was related to mink cutting and sewing and included two parts: theoretical examination related to fur products processing and practical operation examination of mink cutting and sewing process. Saga Furs sponsored exquisite Saga Royal Pearl female mink pelts for the practical part. After a day of intense competition, all the contestants completed a highly difficult professional skill competition with the purpose of learning from each other. It fully demonstrated the talent of front-line employees in the fur industry, and also achieved the goal of technical exchange and common progress.
