Saga Furs September auction started today with the offering of 734,000 White and Pearl mink pelts. Despite the challenging market situation there were more than 60 actively competing buyers in the auction room, an attendance which hasn´t been seen at any live auction since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Saga Furs achieved overall 80% clearance with White Velvet females reaching close to 100% sale. While price level remains at a clearly unsatisfactory level, the high clearance is positive and appreciated by the trade. In some sections prices showed advance compared to recent international auctions.
China was clearly the dominant buyer with some support from Turkey, especially in the males.
The auction will continue tomorrow with the sale of Silverblue, Sapphire and North American mutation mink pelts.
