Saga Furs Oyj, Insider Release 13.12.2023 at 15.20 EET
Due to the increased demand for fox pelts, Saga Furs held an online auction today, 13 December, which was the first of the financial year starting 1 November 2023. In the auction 120,000 blue fox pelts and 32,000 other fox and Finnraccoon pelts were offered. Blue fox pelts were 100 per cent sold, and the price level increased by 20% from the September price level. Half of the other fox and Finnraccoon pelts were sold and the price level rose slightly. Purchases were made mainly to China, but also to South Korea and Western markets. The value of the brokerage sales in the auction was 8 million euros.
“Initially, we planned a small private treaty sale, but due to improved demand, we increased our offering and added the online auction to the previously published auction schedule. The auction enables sales and price levels to be formed based on actual demand,” says Saga Furs’ Sales Director Mikko Hovén.
Saga Furs will hold the next auction 9–14 March 2024, when the preliminary offering consists of under 3 million mink and more than 300,000 fox and Finnraccoon pelts.
Saga Furs Oyj will publish its Financial Statements Bulletin for the financial year ended 31 October 2023 on Friday 26 January 2024. The Report of the Board of Directors and Financial Statements will be published on Friday 16 February 2024.
