The “2024 Hong Kong International Fur Fashion Fair” took place from 22 to 25 February 2024. The exhibition showcased the latest fur designs, highlighting the innovation and high quality of the fur industry. There were 52 exhibitors at the fair, which is slightly more than in 2023.
This event is considered to be the most important fair for international buyers from China, Korea and Japan. More than 70 Russian buyers joined buyers from other countries to source high quality fur garments.
Hong Kong manufacturers have identified Korea as their main market. They are actively placing orders at the Fur Fair. The number of Korean buyers has increased compared to 2023. Despite the 10-15% increase in order prices, some manufacturers have reported a slight increase in business.
The Fur Gala Show featured seven collections
The Fur Gala show was the highlight of the Fur Fair featuring seven collections. Since its inception, it has been the focal point for stylish fur accessories and apparel. The on-trend styles and limitless designs showcased the endless possibilities and glamour of fur in the new generation.
Collections at Saga Furs’ Trend show included more fox than earlier
Saga Furs’ “2024 Trend Show” collections showcased the latest fur fashion trends, crafted with exceptional craftsmanship and innovative design. In addition, the manufacturer had used Saga Furs’ fur techniques in the new collection. This year’s gala show featured a more prominent use of the fox skins.
Sustainable Fur Design Competition brings winner to Saga Furs’ Creative Hub in Finland
The Sustainable Fur Design Competition aims to inspire local design students to take an interest in the fur industry. At the same time, the objective is to show the world that fur is a sustainable and long-lasting choice. The garment designed must contain at least 50% fur and preference were given to recycled and biodegradable materials.
Ten shortlisted finalists were responsible for the design and production of the garments, with the support of the furrier who sponsored the garment.
The winner of the Sustainable Fur Design Competition 2024 is Mr. Yung Tsz Tsun from Hong Kong Design Institute. The winner will receive a study trip to Saga Furs Creative Hub in Finland.
Saga Furs’ booth – The meeting place for the fur trade
The Saga Furs’ booth was the meeting place for the fur trade, showcasing different skin types and fur techniques. It attracted designers and enthusiasts eager to discover the latest craftsmanship and technology.
We were also delighted that Mr. Timo Kantola, Consul General of Finland in Hong Kong and Macau, visited the HK Fur Fair on 23 February. This was an excellent opportunity for us to meet Mr. Kantola, share and receive the latest updates on our business, and strengthen our relationship by bringing our guests to the Saga Furs’ booth.
