Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair held 15–18 February in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair, is widely recognized by global industry players as the most essential platform for sourcing quality fur garments and raw materials and is the biggest event in the fur industry.
The event marks the 40th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Fur Federation. This year the annual fair brought together 180 international exhibitors from 10 countries and regions. The number of attendees who participated this years’ trade show, fair and exhibition was nearly 4000.
Fur Gala 2019 opens the fair
The renowned and highly anticipated ‘Fur Gala 2019’ was held on the opening night, showcasing astonishing fur designs from leading local furriers to capture attention of over 1,800 worldwide buyers. Hong Kong fur manufacturers are well known for their ability to quickly response to market demand and embrace the latest techniques.
Saga Furs is the leader in the industry of creating innovative fur techniques, which are interesting for the new generations. All of 10 runway collections this year had a focus on young consumers showing new innovative styles and techniques. Collections showed combination of texture and contrasting materials, graphics and geometrics, and the street style looks which speaks to cool-girls.
Saga Furs’ booth featured a full assortment of Saga® Fox, Mink and Finnraccoon skins. Saga Furs displayed a collection of technique samples from Design Centre and six garments using Saga Furs’ skins and techniques. Saga Furs created a video of the final garments and technique samples used to demonstrate Saga’s ideas to the visitors.
Young consumers and sustainability in the spotlight
Pertti Fallenius, CEO of Saga Furs, and his team had a busy schedule full of meetings during the fair. The team collected information on recent market developments from guest at the booth. In addition, information about Saga Furs’ March auction was shared among the guest. Saga hosted a mini cocktail party at the Saga’s booth and invited Saga friends.
