A fur grading training course was successfully held during the inspection days of our March auction. The participants were the next generation of the fur manufacturing and trade industry. Participants came from Greece, Italy and Korea. The course was the second in-person, in-house training since 2019.
The presence of young participants was significant in the March fur grading course.
– Their involvement brings optimism and fresh perspective to the future of the fur industry. Some of the participants were third or second-generation fur manufacturers and traders, preparing to continue their family businesses in the future. Others were independent entrepreneurs, says Kari Huotari, Saga Furs’ Product Manager, Fox Grading.
The trainees gained in-depth knowledge of grading mink, fox, and Swakara
The intensive 5-day training covered the grading of mink, fox, and Swakara skins, along with key auction-related topics, all under the guidance of experienced professionals. The trainees gained in-depth knowledge of fur quality assessment, classification, industry standards, and auction procedures.
The course received positive feedback, with participants expressing their appreciation for both the program’s content and the expertise of the instructors. A small ceremony was held in the auction room, where each participant was awarded a diploma in recognition of their dedication and successful completion of the program.
